OSG 1.2.6 Release Announcement

OSG Operations and Integration are pleased to announce the release of OSG version 1.2.6.

This update changes the way we distribute configure-osg and the RSV by incorporating them into the VDT cache — you should see no difference in behavior. In addition, resource and resource_group settings have been added to the Site Information section of the config.ini in order to align the information that gip provides with the information in OIM. The site_name setting is deprecated and should be replaced by these two settings but configure-osg will still accept and use the site_name setting if resource and resource_group are not given. Admins upgrading their CE should check the update instructions in order to make sure that they have correctly configured their systems.

This release also updates several software components, see the complete list below.

We recommend this update if you are running a Compute Element (for the GIP and Gratia probe updates), BeStMan, Xrootd, or the Fermi SRM client. Other installations are low priority to update.
